The West Block at Bethel Heights is a five acre section planted in 1977 to own-rooted Pinot noir of the heritage Wädenswil selection. These are the oldest Pinot noir vines at Bethel Heights, and some of the last remaining own-rooted Pinot noir vines in the Willamette Valley.
WINEMAKER NOTES
The West Block is the only one of our oriinal blocks that happens to have both the oldest and youngest vines on our property sitting side by side. We have yet to harvest the younger vines, allowing them to focus on developing their root systems, but it still makes me smile when I pass by massive, gnarled vines along side thin, tender vines struggling to find purpose. This 2022 West Block is one of the better versions in recent memory, showing some of the best balance and poise of the vintage, with aromatic complexity I usually associate with older vines on the East side of our property.ACCOLADES

97 JEB DUNNUCK
"Offers up a wild, savory bouquet with notes of black cherries, wild berries, forest herbs, and tosted spices. Medium-bodied, it delivers a great deal of tension on the palate, with vibrant, ripe acidity propelling the wine forward, as well as ripe coiled tannins and a great, savory mineral finish.
